Using Loanly

How do I log something I lent or borrowed?

  1. Tap + on the home screen.
  2. Choose I lent it out or I borrowed it.
  3. Enter the item and the other person’s name.
  4. Optionally set a due date and notes, then tap Add item.

How do reminders work?

If you set a due date, Loanly schedules a reminder on your phone for 9am that day. With Loanly Pro you can also get a heads-up before the date and a repeat nudge while something is late. Reminders are scheduled entirely on your device, so they work without an internet connection. Tapping a reminder opens the item.

I’m not getting reminders

Check that notifications are allowed for Loanly: Settings → Notifications → Loanly on iPhone, or Settings → Apps → Loanly → Notifications on Android. Loanly asks for this permission the first time you set a due date.

How do I mark something as returned?

Open the item and tap Mark as returned. It moves to History and its reminders are cancelled.

Your data

How do I back up my data?

  1. Open Settings → Backup & restore.
  2. Tap Export backup file.
  3. Choose where to save it: Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email, or anywhere else.

Backups include your photos. To restore, tap Restore from file… on the same screen and pick a backup. Restoring replaces everything on the device with the backup’s contents. Backups from every version of Loanly can be restored.

Does Loanly sync across my devices?

Not automatically. Loanly keeps everything on one device by design, with no account. Use backup and restore to move your data to a new phone.

Loanly Pro

What is Loanly Pro?

An optional one-time purchase that adds photos, smarter reminders, categories and search, a People view and spreadsheet export. It isn’t a subscription, and everything that’s free stays free.

I bought Pro but it isn’t unlocked

Open Settings → Restore purchases, signed in to the same Apple Account or Google account you bought it with. If a purchase shows as pending, Pro unlocks as soon as the payment completes.

New phone or reinstalled the app?

Use Settings → Restore purchases to unlock Pro again at no charge, and restore your backup file to bring your items back.

Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, so refunds are requested from them: reportaproblem.apple.com for the App Store, or your Google Play order history.

Something’s not working

  1. Close and reopen the app.
  2. Make sure you have the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Still stuck? Get in touch using the address at the top of this page, with what happened and your phone model.
